I have been managing TCP/IP networks for more than ten years in big organizations (University of DAr Es Salaam, Tanzania Leaf Tobacco Company, Muhimbili University and now at Aga Khan University).

In all these networks i have worked on i have been participating in designing, implementing and managing.

Managing the infrastructure passive and active components... routers, switches, systems (servers, firewalls).

i'm the IT Manager of Aga Khan University Tanzania branch.

i'm overseeing the network infrastucture, systems, specialized applications for teaching and administration and supporting end users.

it's this experiences and capabilities that has enabled me to be elected as a member of the executive commitee in the Tanzania Information Technology Association also as a TCR in ARIN.

my network comprises of two internet links from two different ISPs.

One link is dedicated for VPN (Site-site) between DAR-Karachi-Nairobi.

the other one is dedicated for general surfing.

on both links we have ISA-boxes running windows 2003 and ISA 2006.

the operating systems we are using is windows 2003/2008 and Sun Solaris in the servers and on PCs we are using windows XP, windows 7 

all of our IPS are connected to the rest of the world via fiber optic marine cables.

but the connection from ISP to our premises is over radio we are working out fiber optic possibility.
